The Skoda Superb is a large family car primarily built by the Czech car manufacturer Skoda Auto as its flagship car. The versions produced from 2001 to date are based on the platform of the Volkswagen Passat, but are elongated by 10 centimetres (3.9 in), and shares its major mechanicals and powertrain with the Passat, and therefore the larger resources of Skoda Auto’s parent company Volkswagen Group. It is currently the largest and most luxurious model in Skoda’s model range.

The Superb name is a resurrection, originally used by Skoda for a similarly large models, between 1934 and 1942.

New Superb is unique at a closer look, yet it is designed to resemble the front grilles of all current Skoda models, being one of the characteristic features. The TwinDoor, a unique system of opening the rear fifth door, is an original technical design which will take your breath away. New Skoda Superb was initially launched in only one model with 1.8 litre TSi petrol engine. The petrol and diesel engines are both fitted with direct fuel injection technology for superior response, fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The turbocharged petrol engine generates maximum power of 160 Bhp at 4500 rpm with 250 nm of torque.

The Skoda Superb can offer up to nine airbags. In addition to the head airbags, driver’s and front passenger’s airbags and side airbags in the front, the Superb has a knee airbag for the driver and side airbags in the back. Standard features include the ESP stabilising system with an EDL electronic differential lock and an HBA hydraulic brake assistant. Obviously, these systems also include ABS, MSR and ASR.
