The Ford Ikon is a sedan version of the Ford Fiesta Mark V on the Ford B3 platform. It is manufactured and sold in India. It used to be manufactured and sold in South Africa, Mexico and China where production ended in December 2006, September 2007 and 2007 respectively.
The Mexican and South African Ikon was closely based on the European Mark IV and V Fiesta, delivering vehicle attributes that would have been acceptable to European customers. The India Ikon has a cheaper suspension, interior and front end structure. The China Ikon was somewhere in between.
Ford India has launched a new variant on its Ford Ikon Sedan Called as ikon iKool.
The Ikon iKool comes with the advanced and efficient Duratorq TDCi 1.4 diesel and ROCAM 1.3 petrol engine. Ford Ikon comes with a 2 year / 1, 00,000 kilometers warranty and an option to purchase ‘Extended Warranty’ that covers the car against all electrical and mechanical failures for an additional period.
